Emma Jane Donald creates modern, fine jewellery in Aotearoa / New Zealand. Her newly opened Tāmaki Makaurau showroom and workshop specialises in one of a kind commissions, custom wedding and engagement jewellery, and stocks her ready to wear line.
Emma combines an architectural and sculptural sensibility with an intuitive understanding of the intricacies of the natural world. Elemental, geometric forms are incorporated with precious gemstones in her considered and concise designs. An enchantment with artisanal methods of fabrication ensures that each piece is constructed exquisitely - resulting in timeless, enduring jewellery.
Emma studied a Bachelor of Fine Art (Sculpture) at Auckland University and an Advanced Diploma of Gold and Silversmithing at NMIT in Melbourne. She began her eponymous brand in 2008 and in 2018 opened the contemporary jewellery gallery XXOO, in the Byron Bay Hinterlands, she returned to Aotearoa in 2022.
